Keep your cool this Summer
First and foremost:
Keep hydrated
Often drinking water is about the habit of drinking it. If your kids are used to drinking water then they are more likely to drink it regularly.
Get cool water bottles for each kid
Let your child pick out their own water bottle. If you think it would help to make it even more special then help them decorate them as well. This way they can have water with them all the time and in a bottle they like. Try to get them to drink before they are thirsty. Thirst is a sign of mild dehydration, it is best if you get your kids to drink water before they are thirsty.
Offer drinks at each meal and snack
Also have them drink every 15 to 20 minutes when they are playing hard or outside.
Put water bottles in the freezer before you go to bed and take them with you the next day. As the bottles gradually thaw out, you’ll have cold water the whole day long.
Avoid the midday sun
Plan trips and garden play that avoids 11am to 3pm peak intensity. Keep in the Shade Always encourage children to play in the shade.
Dress appropriately
Always put a broad-brimmed hat on children – a flap down the back gives added protection. Invest in some sun-protection clothing or dress them in cool, light-coloured clothes Escape Madrid for the day ....
Escape the city altogether
Go for a swim in one of the lakes in the Sierra NorteHead to the water slides or one of Madrid's open air pools.
... and of course NEVER leave Children in Cars Even in cool temperatures, cars can heat up to dangerous temperatures very quickly.
