ANDÉN 0

ANDÉN 0 is a Metro de Madrid Exhibition which brings its history and heritage closer to residents and visitors.

Andén 0 has two centres: one at the Engine Shed at calle Valderribas, 49, and another one at the old Chamberí Station.

Its opening highlights the public’s firm support for the restoration and enhancement of the technological and industrial heritage of the city. Andén 0 is the result of a collaboration between the City Council and the Metro and allows the public to immerse itself in the history of the metropolitan railway in Madrid and the history of the city of Madrid. chamberi

The period covers the first years of the 20th century, in which the Metro radically transformed the city. The Centre explains how the birth and consolidation of the Metro meant a major change, not just to the customs of the residents of Madrid, but also to the social structure of the city. Aspects related to the general history of transport are also exhibited, the relationship between the underground and the city, technology and its evolution, engineering, advertising aesthetics or design.
