Skiing

The mountains to the north of Madrid offer reasonable opportunities for skiing. The beautiful national reserves of "Valdesqui" and "La Pinilla" are the winter hideaway for ski mad Madrid.

Both resorts have all the facilities you would expect to find in the larger Alpine or Pyrennean resorts. Ski and Snowboard hire, Ski Clothing Hire, Modern lift systems, ski bars and restaurants and of course Hotel accomodation for those wanting a longer stay.

Valdesqui Getting there: Leave Madrid on the A-6 going North West Leave at junction 47 signposted Guadarama Continue on the M-614 and pass through Los Molinos Follow signposting to the resort.  Total journey time approx 55 minutes

La Pinilla Getting there: Leave Madrid on the N-1 going North Pass over the Puerto Somosierra (Mountian pass) From the base of the mountain the resort is signposted Exit 104 total journey time approx 50 minutes

Finally, you also have the fun alternative of skiing 365 days a year on the largest indoor ski slope in Europe.

Snowzone is located in Madrid's Zanadu Shopping Centre, around 24km from Madrid. You can hire full equipment and book ski lessons. You pay for use of the slope by the hour.
